You Can't Go Back, You Think You Can, But You Can't
This is an original painting in acrylic on paper 2014. Born in London in 1953, Chris Gollon is a very established and highly-acclaimed name in European painting, with many solo museum shows and museum acquisitions, including the British Museum.
Chris Gollon had read about the revival of the burlesque cabaret in today's Berlin, and wondered whether it was actually possible to go back. He chose to attempt it himself with a modern Gollonesque cover version of Otto Dix's Portrait of Sylvia von Harden, which was also a tableaux vivant as the opening scene of the film Cabaret.
IAP Fine Art is a friendly gallery (based in both London & Hereford) and we are part of the Arts Council of England's OWN Art Scheme, allowing you to purchase (or part-purchase) any work of art up to £2,500 on interest-free credit over 10 months. It's an excellent scheme and available to UK Residents, terms and conditions apply.
