These etching retail for $1,500. This is a very low price, on very hard to find work, by an established Latin Master.

Salinas has work in the permanent collection of over 35 significant museums, worldwide. He has had over 100 solo shows. He studied with Joan Miro in Barcelona, and also Stanley William Hayter. He is the most significant contemporary artist this gallery represents. He is quoted as saying: "Because of my connection and collaboration with poets and writers such as María Zambrano, José Angel Valente, Pere Gimferrer, and Michel Butor, I developed a concept of the language of the clouds. This consisted basically of a grey background with white as the main color of my palette–the white symbolizing clouds. I also used pictograms, ideograms, and strange alphabets like the Greek alphabet, the Hebrew alphabet, and the Iberian alphabet". On another occasion Salinas was quoted as follows: "To me, painting is not work. It is something that transcends labor. I love to be in my studio painting because I forget about everything else. I’m so concentrated on it that it is like a meditation. I concentrate on what I’m doing and I enjoy it while I’m doing it. I enjoy seeing a wide space being developed into something that has life. It’s always been the most important thing in my life. And architecture was never so.”

Baruj Salinas was born in Havana in 1938. Salinas ' career began in the field of architecture. He graduated from the University of Ohio with an architectural degree and left Cuba permanently in 1959. Salinas settled in Miami and later moved to Barcelona where he studied alongside artists Joan Miro and Antoni Tapies. Architecture informed his early work, but gradually he moved toward a purely abstract expression. His work resembles paintings of space, where colour is more important than form and itself becomes a principal theme. There are traces, also, of Jewish traditions, but having been born in Cuba has made its impact. For him Cuba is the tropics and sugarcane, it is also the sun and the light. He will never cease to be Cuban. Salina's paintings can be seen in important collections all over the world such as the Joan Miro Foundation, Barcelona; the National Museum of Catalonia, Barcelona; the National Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico D.F; the Beit Uri Museum, Israel; the Fort Lauderdale Museum of the Arts, Florida; the Fine Arts Museum, Budapest; the Art Institute of Chicago and the Phoenix Museum of Art, Arizona.
