Float mounted on conservation board and framed, this original painting in acrylic on paper was part of Chris Gollon's 2014-2016 national touring exhibition to English cathedrals, 'Incarnation, Mary & Women from the Bible'. In the Bible, we are not even given Job's first wife's name, although she was the first woman to question God's actions. This touring exhibition––focused only on women from the Bible––was groundbreaking, and travelled to the cathedrals of Norwich, Chichester and Durham. This painting is reproduced in the exhibition catalogue, with texts by art historian Tamsin Pickeral and award-winning novelist Sara Maitland.

London-born British artist Chris Gollon (1953 - 2017) was a critically-acclaimed name in European painting, with many solo museum shows and museum acquisitions, including the British Museum. For further details on the recent books published on his work, public commissions, press coverage, visit the artist's page on our website. IAP Fine Art has represented the artist since 1993, and has exclusivity on Gollon's work.

We hold the artist's estate since his untimely death in 2017. A TV documentary is currently being made on Chris's life and work, due to be released in 2024.
