'Julian of Norwich (III)'
Float mounted and framed, this painting (acrylic on paper) is in Chris Gollon's national touring exhibition 'Incarnation, Mary & Women from the Bible' and in the exhibition catalogue. Although she came long after the Bible, and we do not know her name, Julian of Norwich was the first Christian English writer and mystic. This version was purchased by a collector from the touring exhibition when exhibited at Norwich Cathedral. The second version was purchased by the University of East Anglai for its new Julian Study Centre. See the exhibitions page of chrisgollon.com for dates of exhibition in the ancient cathedrals of Norwich, Chichester and Durham. The touring exhibition is accompanied by a full-colour catalogue, with texts by art historian Tamsin Pickeral and award-winning novelist Sara Maitland.
Born in London in 1953, Chris Gollon is a very established and highly-acclaimed name in European painting, with many solo museum shows and museum acquisitions, including the British Museum. IAP Fine Art is a friendly gallery (with galleries in both London & Hereford). We help private and corporate collectors begin or expand their collections, and we also work with museums and cathedrals with regard to exhibitions and acquisitions.
