'Still Life With John Dory (I)'
Chris Gollon remarks on this work: "This painting was painted using my layered technique. This old technique is based on the division of labour. All troublesome drawing is done in monochrome (black and white). Colour is then added in glazes and then the final modelling executed in opaque paint."
Born in London in 1953, Chris Gollon is a very established and highly-acclaimed name in European painting, with a recent book published on his work endorsed by Bill Bryson OBE and leading art critics, many solo museum shows and major museum acquisitions, including the British Museum.
