In 1987 Andy Warhol created the Camouflage series that consists out of eight different prints. Camouflage 413 features the highly recognizable camouflage design printed in bright colors ranging from florescent orange, yellow and blue. Warhol incorporated a variety of bold colors to the organic shapes and forms seen within the abstract pattern. The use of bold and bright colors added a pop art twist to the print the military rely on for concealment. The Camouflage series gave Warhol the opportunity to once again work with a highly recognizable image and reconstruct its original purpose into a vibrant piece of art.
