Arty-Fact: Pupuk’s paintings depict and accentuate objects that are captured from daily life, his surroundings and local community. Some say he is largely influenced by the great painter S. Sudjojono. Others argue that he presents a fresher, more distinguished style. On this topic, Pupuk once explained that he is mostly inspired by the style of Javanese letters. Not surprising given he is from Java.
