Arty-Fact: Over a quarter of a century later, the poster (Pret A Porter Feminin) is still considered a classic design in the fashion industry. In its day, it catapulted Razzia – the artist and idea – to a new level.
In the words of the artist, “When this image became ‘alive’ through the various advertising channels, I understood that I had to go further with it. The idea of producing a poster came…I had to push hard for Pret A Porter (Paris Fashion Show) to accept the idea that the poster should be published and sold at the show. They didn’t want to go in this direction. After hours of struggling conversations, they finally assented...People snatched up 1,000 posters at the show in just five days! It was a success. This image probably changed the course of my life and career. All of a sudden I became known as an Art Director and a Poster Artist. At that moment all doors were open to me, and they have remained open since.”
