Original colour etching by Édouard Chimot, signed in the plate. Printed on buff wove Christophe Colomb paper. This etching was created as the frontispiece for Meïpe ou la Délivrance by André Maurois, published by Bernard Grasset in 1926. This etching exists in four states: the definitive state in colour (639 copies); the definitive state in black-and-white (1889 copies); the first state (106 copies); and the definitive state in sanguine (12 copies).
