Future Relic 03 (Alarm Clock)
Daniel Arsham’s petrified objects serve as anthropological relics, imagined by the artist as having been buried for years and only later discovered in an archeological dig. Part of Arsham's "Future Relic" series, this work signifies an obsolete technology of the post-apocalyptic—a signal of human progress or an entropic future. It is a gypsum cement- and glass-cast sculpture of a telephone.
After Future Relic 01 (Mobile phone), Future Relic 02 (Camera), Future Relic 03 (Alarm clock) was released in 2015. Future Relic 04 (Music cassette), Future Relic 05 (Telephone) and Future Relic 06 (Polaroid camera) have been released since.
This work comes with the original box and is in 'as issued' condition. Each relic is numbered on the box from 500. Please contact the gallery with any questions.
