Kate Moss Praed Street Hotel
Singer-turned-photographer Kate Garner (b. 1954) photographed Kate Moss in 1990, just before she became a star. Garner, who was a singer and model herself, noticed something special in the young Moss. Clasping a teddy bear, and wearing only thigh-high black stockings, Moss exudes the nubile sexuality that soon made her famous. Though was commissioned by Esquire magazine, the photos from this shoot were initially rejected because Moss did not have the "glamazon" look that was still in favour. Now this work is highly prized as a landmark image from Moss's early career.
This photograph from 1990 is signed, and inscribed AC 1/1 in black ink verso, on archival black and white resin photographic paper. It is sold in fine condition, unframed.
