The Artist's Hand
Ai Weiwei is a controversial social activist and a blue chip Chinese contemporary artist.
Artist’s Hand (2017) is a rhodium-plated sculpture of Ai Weiwei’s hand, and is part of his Study of Perspective series in which the artist photographed his hand “flipping off” significant landmarks and world monuments in a rejection of authority and political oppression and as a sign of individual expression. The edition of 1,000 sold out within hours of release and offers an affordable entry point into the artist's work. It is sold as new, and will be shipped in the original box as originally issued.
