'Study on Paper (VII) for Gimme Some Wine'
Original painting in acrylic on paper, from the 'Gimme Some Wine' series. Following Chris Gollon's 2-year exercise in artistic boundary crossing with Eleanor McEvoy, the Irish singer songwriter, she wrote a song inspired by his paintings and dedicated to him entitled 'Gimme Some Wine'. It is a song about love and separation in middle age, with lyrics "Gimme some wine/Gimme some wine/If I can't have your time/Gimme some wine". Chris Gollon responded with a series of paintings, shown at IAP Fine Art in March 2017 with Eleanor McEvoy playing LIVE at the private view evening.
