Convection
This original lithograph, Convection, was executed by Alexander Calder in 1974, under an unusual and historic partnership with the Dallas based Braniff Airlines. Braniff had hired the artist to paint their fleet of Boeing 727s and used Calder's effervescent creations in a series of advertisements. Among the lithographs Braniff also published for promotion, Convection was in The Flying Colors suite and has a wonderful blindstamp on the lower right in the shape of an airplane. It is initialed and dated in the plate on the lower right and was printed at Atelier Fernand Mourlot, Paris. This example is in excellent condition with fresh, vibrant colors.
