This original vintage lithographic poster on woven paper is Jules Cheret's famous, Saxoleine, created in 1896 for the lamp oil company. It is among the series of 20 posters Cheret designed over the course of a decade featuring a beautiful woman lit up while holding a lamp. In each work, the woman's dress, the lamp shade, and her position slightly change. Some consider this series the first modern advertising campaign. This is a classic and important work, with vibrant fresh colors.
