Arty-Fact: Concordia, the Roman goddess of harmony, symbolized peace and agreement between the two primary social classes of ancient Rome: the common plebeians and the wealthy, noble patricians. She represented Pax, or peace, in a stable society.
Unlike many other goddesses who had deified qualities, Cordelia's worship extends back to the early days of Rome. In later days, Rome rechristened Cordelia as Cordelia Augustus and worshiped her as the bringer of harmony to the imperial family.
In 'Princess Concordia' the goddess is depicted in a beautiful array of colours on a black background.
