Hiroshi Sugimoto (Japanese, b. 1948) is a Japanese artist who explores the nature of time, memory, dreams, and photography in an unconventional manner. Sugimoto's works are included in the permanent collections of the National Gallery Victoria, Melbourne; Tate Modern, London; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; The Museum of Modern Art, New York, among others. Sugimoto currently lives and works between New York, NY and Tokyo, Japan.

Intrigued by architecture, Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto has captured numerous notable buildings and structures as part of his career-long investigation of time and space. To shoot Herzog & De Meuron's Signal Box building, Sugimoto used a large-format camera from the 19th century. This camera allowed him to create an atmospheric portrait of the Pritzker prize-winning building and a landmark of form and function in Basel, Switzerland.

This tri-tone offset lithographs are mounted to wove paper with letterpress embossed borders and full margins. Each is embossed with the title, date and annotated respectively. The portfolio was published by Kyoto Shoin Co., Ltd. of Japan and includes one bonus print of the IBM Courtyard, Tokyo. This is an unnumbered edition of 500. Please note other are available from the series.
