Untitled (Reach Out and Touch Someone)
Barbara Kruger (b. 1945) is known for her post-modern feminist works, often depicting black and white photographs overlaid with text. She examines stereotypes and consumerist behaviours, commanding the attention of her spectators with imperative sentences and the use of pronouns such as "you", "I", "we" and "they". This work presents the image of a young child, underlined with the pithy and suggestive text, "reach out and touch someone." Sold on consignment.
