Where angels fight
Beat Kuert’s oeuvre represents a broad spectrum of the female character, from the sensual and the erotic, to the duality of being both the creator and the destroyer. Drawn by his models’ beauty Kuert depicts graceful creatures with flowing locks, crimson lips and melancholic expressions, transforming women into goddesses and warriors. The metaphors and symbols in his works refer to more than just the subject matter of the female form, they convey human emotions in a powerful and evocative manner.
Over the past 20 years, Beat Kuert has exhibited in many international venues such as IX New Florence Biennale, Inter Art Gallery in Beijing, M&C Saatchi in Shanghai and Gallery WA in Seoul. More recently, his installation "Good Morning Darkness" was exhibited in the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017 and the Maimeri Foundation presented his solo show at the "MAC" Milan in 2018.
