"To reconnect with myself after a traumatic year, I started finding my way back into nature. I wanted to paint a new collection dedicated to Singapore's parks and nature reserves. Urban Jungle was a collection born at the end of 2022.

"I had spent the last two years developing a signature abstract expressionist style, exploring and working with different mediums such as spray paint. This exploration made me curious to see if I could translate these elements into a collection dedicated to nature.

"As an artist, I love to experiment and explore, pushing myself to try new things and be bold in my approach to creating. All my paintings come from my head, and my compositions and colours are chosen as I work. I like my work to have an impulsive and spontaneous appeal to them." - Samantha Redfern
