Commissioned for the fifth New York Film Festival in 1967, this dazzling poster is quintessential Warhol. It fuses his obsession for consumer culture with his fascination for Hollywood, and also utilises his iconic Flower motif within the design. The pulsing 60's palette is a knockout in the flesh! This work captures Warhol's career at a pivotal moment; in 1967 he had founded his print business Factory Additions and had produced his first portfolio of Marilyn Monroe screenprints. The poster was selected as the cover image for the book "Images of an Era: The American Poster 1945-75" by Milton Glaser, Dore Ashton and others. An example of this print is held by the Tate Modern.
