Many artists have used the dog as their muse. Artists with a major relevance in history such as Jean Paul Gauguin, David Hockney, Edvard Munch, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, or Lucian Freud who portrayed their pets. No wonder dogs are a symbol of love and companionship. On the contrary, Keith Haring made a barking dog his trademark and used it as a symbol to express unconformity and disgust, a way to claim for rebellion in a pacific way, as we all know, a barking dog is never a good fighter.
