Goya's "Disasters of War" is a chronological representation of the horrors lived in Spain in between 1810 and 1815. The 83 etchings, which are numbered by the artist on the upper left corner, are divided in three parts. The first one that has images focused on war scenes, these can be found on etchings from 1 to 43. The second part talks about times of hunger and depression on etchings from 43 to 64. The third part, drawn in times of post-war and the return of King Ferdinand VII, criticize this absolutist period using animal representations to parody the sociopolitical situation.
