Edited by the MOMA, the original samples of the skates were just details of works created by Kusama. These previous designs were sent to the artist for her approval and turned out she dismissed them all. She then painted on the decks creating a unique work specifically conceived for this peculiar edition.

This skate decks are made of Canadian maple wood and are available in four variants: Black Big Dots, Red Big Dots, Black Small Dots and Red Small Dots. Each deck is sent along with its certificate of authenticity and a wall mount is included.

"My desire was to predict and measure the infinity of the unbounded universe, from my own position in it, with dots."

Her hallucinatory paintings of dots and nets representing the idea of infinity represent her life and her constant neuroses. Yayoi Kusama's art can be a dream and a nightmare and suffocating but liberating at the same time.
