Edited by the MOMA, the original samples of the skates were just details of works created by Kusama. These previous designs were sent to the artist for her approval and turned out she dismissed them all. She then painted on the decks creating a unique work specifically conceived for this peculiar edition.

This skate decks are made of Canadian maple wood and are available in four variants: Black Big Dots, Red Big Dots, Black Small Dots and Red Small Dots. Each deck is sent along with its certificate of authenticity and a wall mount is included.

Her polka dots have filled rooms in galleries and museums and this need for space and spreading has taken common objects too. This is why we Kusama's work has outbounded the art lines and we can find her mark in design objects such as sculptures, furniture, homeware or, why not, skateboards.
