Takashi Murakami has developed the figure of his character Mr. DOB over decades. It is present in many of his works and the symbolism that has been given to it is wide, and that is because the Japanese artist has portrayed and played with Mr. DOB in so many ways. We've seen his most naive way but also in it most crazy way, turning into a new character called Chaos.

In this work, Murakami portraits himself wearing a T-shirt of Mr. DOB, the classic one. We can see a two colored eyed calmed man almost tired of of bearing with a chaotic DOB on one side and a playful DOB on the other. As in many of his works, skulls are present, letting the viewer know that the past, heritage and memory of the Japanese culture is always in this artists' mind.
