'I Was in a Hurry But That Don't Matter Now (after Neil Young)'
This painting comes from the Chris Gollon Estate, which we hold.
Chris Gollon used music in various ways to innovate his imagery. A great song lyric would lead to an idea, or a new train of thought, and to a new image. The film explores his use of music to innovate painting, and also how his paintings influenced musicians.
This original painting is in acrylic on canvas and part of the Chris Gollon Estate. It is featured in the new documentary ‘CHRIS GOLLON: Life in Paint’ (2024), which had its World Premiere at the Barbican Centre on 29th October 2024, as part of Doc ’n Roll Film Festival. Next screening is in New York, follow @iapfineart on Instagram for details.
The title of this painting comes from a line in Neil Young's song 'Mansion on the Hill'.
