Costa Rican artist John Paul Fauves will exhibit his latest art series,"Alts iz Farloyrn" (All is Lost) at the mansion in the Hollywood Hills. The one night only exhibition experience will take guests on a digital technicolor journey exploring “what is lost’ of Hollywood icons featuring works inspired by Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Steve Mqcueen. "Alts iz Farloyrn" will feature fine art mixed media paintings, sculptures, and surprises around every corner.
About the Artist:
John Paul Fauves is the masked contemporary artist who lives and works in San José, Costa Rica. Greatly inspired by modernist masters as well as pop-artists, Fauves mixes fragments of different iconic images in vivid and colorful compositions. Of his experimental and high eclectic style, he says, “art is an expression from the soul, and the soul is something limitless. This is why I am always searching for different elements to bring into the work.” You can follow his journey @lefauves.
‘Alts iz Farloyrn’ Solo Exhibition - Los Angeles
Inspired by American idols James Dean and Steve McQueen, "Alts iz Farloyrn,” which translates to "All is Lost," was Steve McQueen’s first line on stage, and represents Fauves own struggle with losing it all while discovering his true self. “Alts iz Farloyrn” dives deep into the darkness that surrounded James Dean and Steve McQueen. Fauves breaks away from traditional frame work of what we think is "pop culture", and echos his visions highlighting the demons of troubled icons. Recognized internationally for his Neo-Pop Expressionism, Fauves paintings idealize pop culture and in distorting cultural characters.
