The new documentary 'CHRIS GOLLON: Life in Paint' (85mins) recently premiered at the Barbican Centre, London, will now have its International Premiere in New York at 7pm on 6th May, as part of the Doc 'N Roll Film Festival.

The first-ever feature documentary on British artist Chris Gollon traces the story of a visionary painter whose work bridged music, image, and a profound look at humanity. From Bob Dylan lyrics to collaborations with Eleanor McEvoy, Yi Yao and Thurston Moore, ‘CHRIS GOLLON: Life in Paint’ reveals how sound shaped Gollon’s powerful, often androgynous figures — and how he kept easel painting alive in an era that declared "painting dead".

Directed by Mark Calderbank, the film blends archival footage of Chris painting in his studio, revealing his techniques, with experimental image sequences synched with music by The Skids, Gavin Bryars, Sleaford Mods, Yi Yao, Eleanor McEvoy and more — creating a portrait as layered as Gollon’s imagery itself.

Followed by a live Q&A with director Mark Calderbank, art historian and curator Wilfrid Wright, and Chris Gollon Estate Trustee, David Tregunna.
