Getsumei no Mai (Moonlight Dance)
I am announcing a pair of hosoban (narrow format) prints of cranes, Getsumei no Mai (Moonlight Dance), in tones of Prussian blue with little touches of red, black-bronze and sliver. These are in the same format at the Cat in the Rain and Deer in the Snow prints I released some months ago, but this time are a true diptych, planned to be a pair and not sold separately. At 34 x 12 cm, these prints are also in an edition of 100 each.
As I have several upcoming prints of various subjects, I will release the next Hyakunen no Hana print in May 2015, and thereafter annually on that date, rather than two prints in this series a year as previously. This will be good news for those collectors of tattoos, landscapes and subjects other than bijin-ga (Pictures of Beautiful Girls) who have been asking repeatedly for new designs. Before spring next year there will be a print of Jigoku Dayú (The Hell Courtesan) and a tattoo print incorporating a genuine antique block.
