'Study on Khadi Paper (V) for Gimme Some Wine'
Original painting in acrylic on Khadi paper, from the Gimme Some Wine series, the last series of paintings by Chris Gollon on a single theme. Following Chris Gollon's 2-year exercise in artistic boundary crossing with Eleanor McEvoy, she wrote a song inspired by his paintings and dedicated to him entitled 'Gimme Some Wine'. Chris Gollon responded with a series of paintings, one of which was shown in his recent museum retrospective exhibition 'Beyond the Horizon' (2019-2020). This work features in the 'Gimme Some Wine' exhibition in 2020 to coincide with the launch of Eleanor McEvoy's new album 'Gimme Some Wine'.
London-born British artist Chris Gollon (1953 - 2017) was a very established and critically-acclaimed name in European painting, with many solo museum shows and museum acquisitions, including the British Museum. The acclaim for his work is ongoing since his untimely death, with public acquisitions and museum exhibitions, and a TV documentary on his life and work is currently being made. For further details on the recent books published on his work, public commissions, press coverage, visit the artist's page on our website. IAP Fine Art holds Chris's estate and has exclusivity on his work, and we help collectors begin or expand their collections, and we also work with museums and cathedrals with regard to exhibitions and acquisitions.
